Euterpe plays the double flute

An 18 carat gold octagonal brooch with diamonds and pearls. In the center is an oval white, pink and blue enamel trompe l’oeil cameo. This medallion features Euterpe – the muse of music – playing a double flute and surrounded by laurels. It is bordered by a thin line of rose-cut diamonds set in platinum and framed by an openwork décor with laurels. The outer border of the pendant is enameled in pink and embellished with eight diamonds and palms. Signed: L. Gautrait, and master’s mark of Leon Gariod. France. Circa 1905.
