Itatia tourmaline ring

An 18 carat gold ring decorated with flowers on the shank and set with a large natural cranberry red tourmaline, Brazil, circa 1970.

This tourmaline came from the Itatia Mine in Brazil and was a unique find in the late 1970’s. The item was formerly in the Collection of the Late R.K. Mitchell F.G.A., Vice President of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain.
