Pierre Cardin, is a French fashion designer known for his bold, futuristic design sensibility and use of bright color.

Cardin opened his own store in 1950 after he had worked with Schiaparelli, Cocteau and Dior. In 1953 he started with haute couture, and opened his Maison de Couture in the Rue Richepanse in Paris.
