Gold mourning ring with enamel and diamond
An 18-carat yellow gold mourning ring featuring a diamond urn with an oval cushion-cut diamond. Surrounding the urn is an ouroboros, a snake devouring its own tail, embellished with crosshatched black enamel. The shank is also decorated with black enamel bordered in white on both sides. Inside the band is an inscription: ‘In memory of the honorable Coll. L William Plenkitt.’ Minor repairs to the enamel. circa 1810-15, England.
