agate cameo ring

An 18 carat ring with a translucent mottled agate from which a cameo is cut, representing a Roman lady in profile, possibly of imperial descent. She could be Faustina, but where the Roman emperors are always well recognizable, their wifes are more difficult to identify, France, early 19th century.
