sapphire and gold ring

A gold and sapphire ring with small garnets to the side featuring a carved drop shaped sapphire with the portrait of Gabriel Bethlen. The stone is also dated 1619 and inscribed Gab Bethlen, for Gabriel Bethlen who was a free minded Calvinist ruler, transsylvanian Prince from 1615. In 1619 he invaded Hungary, Romanian or Hungarian.
