gold revival pendant
An 18-karat satin-finished gold pendant with an oval medallion of multicolored enamel, depicting a putto playing music while seated on a dolphin. The frame is decorated with white, blue and black enamel acanthus leaves and small bezel set rose-cut diamonds. The back has a mother of pearl plate, circa 1870. The original case is signed Morel et Cie. for Prosper Morel – the father-in-law of Joseph Chaumet, Morel’s successor in 1885.
