gold Georgian cross set with topaz, emerald and pearl

A large 18-carat gold cross set with natural pearls, natural emeralds in open setting, and five large pink topazes in closed setting. The highly ornate gold decorations in the cannetille technique, was fashionable in England from 1790-1830. This magnificent cross is most likely English in origin and dates from circa 1820. The gold work is in pristine condition.
